ATTENTION: SCHOOL REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS JULY 22, 2005
Introduction
The summer schools stems from the e-Photon/ONe network of excellence, funded by the European Union in the 6th framework program. e-Photon/ONe focuses on optical networks and the organization of schools for PhD student and junior researchers is one of the tasks of the project. This school comes after the first summer school dedicated to "Optical access technologies" and the winter school on "Optical core network technologies". The second summer school will address the issue of optical switching. The aim is to present basic concepts as well as state of the art research results in "Optical switching technologies".
Course
The course aims at presenting the basic concepts as well as state of the art research results in "Optical switching technologies"
The course will be organized in two parts:
1. 4 to 6 tutorial lectures, given by senior researchers or professors, on optical switching technologies and switching architectures, to provide young researchers a good overview of the topic and guidelines for future research;
2. Presentation of state of the art research results given by PhD students or junior researchers participating to the e-Photon/ONe research project, aiming at presenting the most up to date research activities in the field.
